I follow WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines to design interfaces that are perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for all users.

Inclusive Design Approach

From early wireframes to final high-fidelity prototypes, I incorporate accessibility features like appropriate color contrast, readable typography, and keyboard navigation.

Stark is an excellent contrast checker that I use on all of my components to meet AA requirements.

Screen reader compatibility for visually impaired users

Once I learned that bolded and italicized fonts are not communicated through screen readers, I added another indicator to relay importance. Here, I added the word "Note".

Commitment to Continuous Learning

Before I learned about the importance of accessibility, I didn’t fully grasp its wide scope. I initially focused primarily on visual impairments, often overlooking the need for clear language, keyboard navigation, and voice-over capabilities. However, going through VPAT audits has expanded my understanding of accessible design and the diverse needs it encompasses.

I am dedicated to continuously learning about accessibility standards and best practices to enhance my design skills and ensure inclusive experiences for all users.
